The Indie music coming out of Australia lately has been at a spectacular quality. Helping to get this music seen and played live have been THE A&R DEPARTMENT who have consistently been hosting handfuls of sets with their MUSIC MAKERS CLUB. Well now their taking their devotion to the next step by releasing Marshmallow Pavement a compilation of some of the artists they’ve been nurturing.

Over the last 18 months THE A&R DEPARTMENT have been worked with a slew of independent Australian artists. Their approach is to give their artists the freedom and time to develop and define their own sound and image. It is an approach that has allowed their artist to establish a uniqueness from others in their respective fields.

Over this period The A&R Department have seen their artists constantly releasing music and performing live. So to celebrate the success of the artists THE A&R RECORDS have mastermind the release of a new compilation called Marshmallow Pavement, including some of the music their artists have released during their tenor with The A&R Department.

In the words of The A&R Department:

“The A&R Department are proud to launch our first Indie all Australian Compilation called Marshmallow Pavement. Marshmallow Pavement is a movement of songwriters, musicians, producers and artists creating and making both audio and visual content, each artist owns and controls their rights and we assist in taking it to the world”.

It has been a treat to get to see these shows and listen to the music that have come out of it. The compilation will do a great deal to build these artists and increase the access to their music.
