After months of chatty-chatter gossip we finally have our first proper trailer for the BRET EASTON ELLIS and PAUL SCHRADER collaboration THE CAYONS.

But of course, if you are aware of this movie I’m sure it’s less about Shrader and Easton Ellis and more and about the controversial casting of adult film actor JAMES DEEN and ‘wild-child’ LINDSAY LOHAN. Nonetheless, from what’s been shown on the trailer this is very much in line with the Easton Ellis’ acid satire and affection less characters and Shrader’s internal-external character battles.

The film follows a calculating young movie producer Christian (Deen) making films to keep his trust fund intact, while his actress girlfriend, Tara (Lohan), hides an affair with an actor from her past. But Christian becomes aware which thrusts the young Angelenos into a violent, sexually-charged tour through the dark side of human nature.

The film also stars Nolan Gerard FunkAmanda Brooks, Tenille Houston, and Gus Van Sant.

The film is set to debut at the Film Society of Lincoln Center on July 29 and on VOD August 2, but still there is no Australian release.

The film is being released through IFC Films.
