LISTEN UP! Toucan ‘Swim’ EP Out Now
Sydney indie/pop duo, TOUCAN have release their second EP, SWIM while touring Australia with Big Day Out. Given the smooth tunes and laid back synths Toucan’s sophomore EP should make the perfect addition to your summer playlist.
Jess Pollard and Shea Duncan have been working hard since their 2011 debut EP, ‘Brave New World‘, recording their new electronic-infused EP, ‘Swim‘.
Currently touring with Big Day Out and surviving the heat in the process, Toucan have finally had a chance to play their new work to live audiences around Australia. Jess and Shea, of the band, have transformed their tracks in innovative ways to suit the restrictions of playing live, with the most obvious instance being the way the two have worked to express the effect of the rich orchestral sounds prevalent in Swim without bringing an actual orchestra on tour with them. This effect has been achieved by pumping the bass and playing with vocal effects onstage which have still very much excited and delighted their fans.
Now with both ‘Mr. Television’ and ‘Warrior’ released from their Swim EP the duo will continue to roam the country on the Big Day Out Tour with Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth still to tackle this weekend. (Dates Below)
FRI 25 JAN – SHOWGROUNDS, ADELAIDE
SAT 26 JAN – FLEMINGTON RACECOURSE, MELBOURNE
MON 28 JAN – CLAREMONT SHOWGROUNDS, PERTH
