TOP FIVES: Luke Letourneau
Purple Sneakers is an indie music community that writes and shares lots of great music, I work over there editing and contributing articles for them, and recently I was asked to share my Top Fives.
The PURPLE SNEAKERS TOP FIVES have become a bit of a thing over there, with lots of local DJs and bands sharing their Top music favourites of the moment. I was happy to be involved, and so this is what I came up with.
Top 5 tracks you have on repeat now
Gossip – ‘Get a Job’
Blood Orange – ‘I’m Sorry We Lied’
David Bowie – ‘Station to Station
Django Django – ‘Hail Bop’
Cold War Kids – ‘Something Is Not Right With Me’
Top 5 gigs you’ve been to
The Killers @ Entertainment Center 2007
The Temper Trap @ Hordern Pavillion 2010

Metronomy @Manning Bar 2012
Top 5 places to go for a night out in Sydney/Australia/The World
Every pub along Chalmers Street and up Cleveland Street.
If you are going to a Festival at Moore Park orgoing to see someone play at the Hordern Pavilion, I suggest you get off at Central Station and get your drink on before you have to deal with the jacked up prices of either venue. Although beware, there are a lot of pubs, so maybe just one drink per-pub, because it’s already going to a lethal night.
World Bar (Thursday Night)
Free entry, good music and filled with uni students trying to forget about rent, their grades and an assessment they should be working on is always an enjoyable atmosphere.
Absolute filth, but in a fun – I’m going to hate myself tomorrow- kind of way.
The cheapest drinks around, you know most of the people, and if your a total mess you can crash there.
You’ll regret going there during the day, but at night, oh at night, it is the cure to every problem.
Top 5 songs to lose your virginity to
Blondie ‘Pretty Baby’
Salt N Pepa ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’
T.Rex ‘Bang a Gong (Get it On)’
Ying Yang Twins ‘Wait (The Whisper Song)’
Peaches ‘AA XXX’
Top 5 Places you’ve woken up after a big night out
Not on the train.
Not under my clothesline on my 18th.
Not in a pool of ‘after-drink.’
Not in a random’s garden.
Always my own bed.
